Join us for a combination wheel throwing & hand building class where you create your own animal shaped jar! This class will begin with a 2 hour wheel class where you will focus on creating the main vessel for your project. After a 30 minute break, class will resume with another 2 hours of hand building elements that you will attach to your thrown form to help bring your clay critter to life!

MYO Tortillero! Saturday, September 5th
Join us for a chill Saturday afternoon creating something special for your casita. In this beginner class, you’ll learn simple hand-building techniques to make your own slab built tortilla warmer. All materials are included. After your piece is fired, the studio will glaze it to a color of your choice. Or you can also come back to custom glaze your piece for $20 if you want something more detailed. Come solo or with a friend and enjoy a relaxed, creative afternoon in the studio. ✨

While wheel-throwing is often the first thing that comes to mind in pottery, it's noteworthy that hand building stands as the oldest pottery-making technique, relying solely on hands and basic tools. This method offers a truly grounding and inspiring exploration of clay. In our beginner-friendly class, participants will embark on a project using fundamental hand building techniques like pinching, coiling, and/or working with slabs. It's an ideal opportunity for those new to clay or individuals experienced in wheel throwing seeking a fresh creative venture. If you'd prefer to glaze or paint the piece yourself, let your instructor know and pay the "Back to Glaze" fee ($20) in studio to return and paint it yourself during any of our operating hours- no scheduling needed.
