Service Description
Visiting artist, Andrew Clark will demonstrate hand-building and throwing techniques to make various simple parts that will then be used to construct the jar and the locking mechanism. The full process will be shown including finishing techniques with terra sigillata and underglaze. Andrew will cover all the problems that arise when building with multiple clay parts and making complex pieces that operate and fit together successfully. The workshop will include illustrated handouts for all 3 jars.
